Butler Peak's Watchtower (10-10-04)
After the Big Bear Fall Classic, Cindy & I took a drive around the lake to the Big Bear Discovery Center. A post card Cindy picked up had a watchtower precariously perched on Butler Peak's topmost rock outcrop. Properly equipped with lots of curiosity & a camera , we drove up rocky roads in our low-swung Ford Focus. You can make it in a car, but use a high clearance vehicle if possible. The road begins on the northern side of the lake by the village of Fawnskin (see map).
