With the desert temperatures scheduled in for a 114 degree weekend, we asked around for a cooler choice to go camping in.  Unbeknownst to us, the Silver Strand State Beach, just south of Coronado CA, allows dry camping for about 100 self contained vehicle in its parking lot. Although tight, you are on the beach with a cool breeze, and the crowd was fun & friendly.
