I was able to ride Eigil's cutter back to its home port, leaving San Diego harbor Friday afternoon & arriving in Alameda midday Sunday. The transit brought back lots of memories & allowed Eigil to educate his old dad on what he does onboard. The cutter's crew also demonstrated various defensive systems and survival equipment, & even kicked-in the turbines for a display of speed. In all, everyone was friendly, the food was good (really, it was actually spiced up!) , & it was plain fun to ride a ship as a guest for a change!
