The Motorhome (07-31-04)

We kept this as secret as possible to surprise our old neighbors, and I think we did... as well as a lot of other people! Bottom line, my retired sailor wife gets sea-sick, so we opted for a land yacht instead. This beast is just over 37 feet long, 12 feet tall, & weighs-in dry at just over 24,000 pounds. Down the highway it's 8.5 feet wide, but with all three slide-outs opened, it grows to 12 feet. It's built on a Freightliner chassis, powered by a Caterpillar diesel with 350hp & 860 ft/lbs of torque, running through a six speed Allison transmission. In all, a very different driving experience!
